Playing through a level rewards you with points. It’s usually just not a very feasible way and a no-kills run is usually the most satisfying ways to play a stealth game. It adds weight to the killing, but doesn’t let that stop you if you want to go on a killing spree. Taking down an enemy makes the game zoom in on you and your target and show the kill in a more personal way. Every option is possible and that’s usually the mark (pun intended) of a good stealth game. You could take down all of the enemies or just a few of them or none at all and work your way around them altogether. Even though the game is entirely in 2D this is done in a brilliant, but still obvious way. You can get away if you’re spotted, but you usually don’t stand a chance when confronting any of them directly.Īs you would expect from a stealth game the game gives you multiple ways to reach and finish your objective. Enemies usually carry flashlights and guns, so picking the right opportunity to strike is key. And like a true stealth game you’ll stick to the shadows while taking out enemies one by one in the semi-large levels. Like any true ninja you are in possession of a sword, a grappling hook and shuriken. But the gameplay,… the gameplay is great. Although that doesn’t mean that it isn’t good. Not that it would be a spoiler, but the story is fairly self-explanatory and not all that super interesting. The why you’ll just have to experience for yourself. Mark Of The Ninja, created by Klei Entertainment (who later became more famous with Don’t Starve), is most likely the best 2D stealth game that I’ve ever played.
